Nevada school nurse, Denise Nelson(c), volunteers Barbara Long (rt.c) and Dennis Painter, (standing) along with other community members participate in varnish training in Nevada. This group of caring citizens is making a difference in the oral health of the children in their community.
Dr. Bob Wood participates in PSP oral screening training, then allows his dental assistant to paint fluoride varnish on his teeth.
On October 19, over 26 volunteers were trained in fluoride varnish application at Franklin Smith Elementary School in Blue Springs, Mo.
The volunteers included, the school Principal, nurses
, and several LPN nursing students from Lex-Ray Technical Center in Lexington, MO. The Blue Springs School District will have one school participate in the Preventive Services Program this school year.
